Dr. Santa-Cruz is a native of Miami having graduated high school at Miami Country Day School in 1989. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with honors with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He then completed medical school at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1998. He was awarded the John Foman Award at graduation, honoring the highest surgical performance in his medical school class. Following medical school, he completed a six-year training program in Urology at Duke University Medical Center, ranked in the top five urology training programs in the United States. He then pursued specialized training in advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery during a fellowship at the University of North Carolina, completing his formal training in December 2004. Since that time, he has performed over 900 robotic procedures. He is a surgical proctor for Intuitive Surgical, maker of the DaVinci Robot, and has instructed over 200 different urologists and gynecologists across the United States, since 2004.
Following the completion of his training, he accepted a position as assistant professor of Urology at the University of Mississippi, in Jackson, MS. He was director of minimally invasive urology during his tenure with the university. He transitioned into private practice in 2006 but maintains an active interest in cutting edge urology procedures and continues to instruct robot surgery and attends annual meetings on minimally invasive urology.
Dr. Santa-Cruz has also put together a team of dedicated skin care specialists to treat a wide range of skin disorders. He offers anti-aging techniques such as Botox, fillers as well as PRP. Using the latest technology in laser and body sculpting ultrasound technology, our clients receive state-of-the-art care in keeping with the way Dr. Santa-Cruz delivers surgical therapy to his patients daily.
